First ISO Human Capital Standards Bootcamp Set for Chicago, March 12-13

The Northwestern University Law School’s Workforce Science Project is hosting the first certification preparation program for ISO 30414 Human Capital Reporting and ISO 10018 Quality People Management standard, the first of which was recently achieved by DTE Energy

Professionals for organizations and solution providers seeking to benefit from the new ISO 30414 Human Capital Standards, ISO 10019 Quality People Management, and other standards can attend an intensive program requiring no more than one night away from the office for most US attendees to learn how these standards can improve performance, efficiency, and stakeholder experiences and prepare for certification.

The new ISO human capital standards include:
ISO 10018 Quality People Management.
ISO 30414 Guidelines for Internal and External Human Capital Reporting.
ISO 10667 Assessment Services Delivery.
ISO 30401 Knowledge Management.
ISO 30409 Workforce Planning.

The first program is set for March 12 and 13 at the downtown Chicago campus of Northwestern University in a location provided by the host, Northwestern University Law School’s Workforce Science Project, which conducts research to help support the beneficial development and  application of human capital analytics. Registration is now open.

The sessions are designed for management in finance, marketing, human resources--or any one in charge of or concerned with stakeholder engagement—who is seeking to learn how to apply ISO human capital standards to the success of their organization or investments: not only to better manage the human capital that is the sum value of all stakeholders’ contributions, but to report relevant information in such a way that addresses the needs of customers, talent, communities, and all stakeholders.

The ISO Human Capital standards bootcamp program is designed to offer the information essential for ISO certifications in a format that most people in the US can attend with only one night out of the office. Those who can arrive first thing on Thursday can attend extra sessions offering more detail on how organizations can benefit from these standards in terms of return on investment and better experiences for stakeholders, as well as what is required for implementation in practical terms.

The faculty includes co-founders of the ISO Working Group 260 that created the first ISO human capital standards, including: Dr. Ron McKinley; Lee S. Webster, and Zahid Mubarik, SHRM-SCP, SPHRi, GPHR. Other guest speakers will be announced shortly.

The training required for ICEE ISO certifications runs from 11 am to 6 pm, Thu., March 12, with a working lunch, and from 8:30 am to 2 pm on Friday, with breakfast and lunch included. The program officially ends at 3 pm on Friday for those who can remain longer. The program includes training on the spirit, requirements, and guidelines of the standards ISO 30414 Human Capital Management and ISO 10018 Quality People Management, as well as their practical application. The Friday program focuses on the audit process. Attendees can select which standard they wish to focus on.

Explains Lee S. Webster, co-founder of ICEE, “While the program will definitely help those with the necessary business experience rapidly move toward professional certification, the true benefit is how to apply these standards to achieve a more strategic and systematic approach to what organizations are already doing. We are doing what ISO 9001 quality management standards have done: worked together with colleagues around the world to apply a more strategic and systematic approach to doing the branding, recruiting, assessing, communicating, learning, rewarding and recognizing, analyzing of human capital, and everything else we do to move people—but in a more sensible, coordinated fashion that yields better outcomes and experiences than the current reactive, ad hoc approach.”

Adds Dr. Ron McKinley, ICEE Co-Founder, “Beyond helping those seeking to become certified, our goal is to help organizations understand the economic and experiential benefits of ISO 30414 Human Capital Reporting and ISO 10018 Quality People Management standards, as well as provide an introduction to four other ISO standards designed to improve efficiencies and outcomes simply by being aligned with the brand and objectives and applying a strategic and systematic approach.

The cost is $695 for EEA members and academics; $995 non-members. US members who attend receive a credit of $300 toward professional ISO certification preparation and examination fees. Click here to register.

The Benefits

The program is designed to help attendees:
Learn how they and their organizations can benefit from the coming human capital mandate and the need for a CEO-led strategic and systematic to addressing the needs of all stakeholders.
Discover the economic and experiential benefits of ISO 30414 Human Capital Reporting and ISO 10018 Quality People Management standards, as well as four other ISO standards designed to improve efficiencies and outcomes.
Be prepared for the growing need to produce meaningful Corporate Responsibility Reports on an organization’s human capital management practices to compete for customers, talent, investors, and community support.

These 1 ½-day sessions provide preparation for professional certifications and auditing to qualified professionals and also provide concrete information on how organizations can profit from these standards in both financial and non-financial outcomes, including enhanced professional and organizational experiences.

Why Now

Explains McKinley, “CEOs are under growing pressure from investors, investment companies, government regulators, customers, employees, and communities, organizations to invest in all their stakeholders, including employees, customers, distribution partners, vendors, and communities and to disclose those investments and outcomes. ISO standards provide the first and most widely accepted roadmaps for voluntary, strategic and systematic processes that improve outcomes and experiences.”
Concludes Webster, “With the new focus on human capital as an asset, the funds organizations budget to engage people are increasingly becoming considered an investment with a desired ROI, creating a new demand for voluntary, sensible and auditable practices. By connecting the dots between the organization’s brand, culture, and objectives, with the multiple tactics used to engage all stakeholders, leaders can not only improve performance through efficiencies but create better experiences for all stakeholders.”
