Survey: Communication Remains Old School
Most companies continue to use traditional tools to communicate with employees, according to a recent survey of more than 200 U.S. workers by theEMPLOYEEapp, a mobile internal communications platform. They survey found that most companies aren’t using the communication tools most familiar to Millennial and Gen-X employees, which include smart phones and text messaging. Some highlights:
- 89% of companies communicate via email
- 80% communicate in person
- 50% use the telephone
- 30% of employees ignore their employer’s emails
- 68% of employees say communication frequency directly impacts job satisfaction
- 62% say methods used directly impact job satisfaction
- Nearly half say they feel out of the loop in their organization
- 33% say they want more communication.
