Dr. Solange Charas, Ph.D. Human Capital Professor & Entrepreneur, Leads EEA Human Capital Management and ROI of Engagement Certification

A recognized leader in human resources and human capital management and metrics joins the Enterprise Engagement Alliance’s Executive Committee for Human Resources and Human Capital Management on a volunteer basis. She will help oversee development of an outreach effort and EEA curriculum program tailored for human resources and analytics leaders seeking to make a business case for their efforts with senior management.
 
CharasDr. Solange Charas, Ph.D. says she is excited to join the team and provide guidance and advice to the Enterprise Engagement Alliance at TheEEA.org. She explains that it’s her mission to tap her background as an author, HR expert and professor in human resources and human capital analytics to help professionals make a business case for human capital activities. 
 
She serves the EEA in an advisory role to help the Enterprise Engagement Alliance continually update its Enterprise Engagement curriculum, which is designed to provide a strategic approach to achieving organizational goals by fostering the proactive involvement of all stakeholder. It is designed for use by academics and management at organizations of any size or type. These include customers, employees, distribution and supply chain partners, communities, volunteers and donors, constituents, or anyone of value to an enterprise, including shareholders. Dr. Charas’ role is to help address the growing need for human resources executives and CFOs to improve and sustain organizational performance through strategic and tactical approaches to human capital management and measurement of the return on program performance and associated impact on profitability. In this role, she joins David Bookbinder, Senior Director, CFGI, an expert in business valuations and author of The New ROI: Return on Individual, who serves as Executive Advisor to the EEA on finance; and Allan Steinmetz, CEO and Founder of Inward Consulting, a pioneer in internal marketing, who oversees the Brand Marketing elements of the curriculum. 
 
Dr. Charas says that it is her personal passion to contribute to the future of the human capital profession by teaching HR professionals how to integrate data analytics and financially based decision-making into the HR management practice. She believes that today’s generation of human resources leaders must be trained in the applications of analytics and fluent in a financial language to address critical business challenges and opportunities and represent the HR function effectively at the management table. 
 
Currently, Dr. Charas is leading a dedicated team at HCMoneyball to bring its first-of-its-kind HCMetrixTM analytics platform to CFOs, CEOs and board directors so they can properly evaluate the financial return on all aspects of hiring, motivating and keeping people.
 
Solange has a distinguished career in the human resources field. She held multiple CHRO positions with leading companies as well as senior-level positions at EY and Arthur Andersen. She has an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and a Ph.D. in Designing Sustainable Systems from Case Western Reserve University. She is an adjunct professor teaching human capital courses in the Master’s Degree Program at Columbia, New York University and the University of Southern California. She also serves as a Distinguished Principle Research Fellow for The Conference Board. Her CV fills multiple pages of research, citations, articles in leading journals, and public speaking engagements.
