Calendar of Accomplishments
2008. Becomes the first organization dedicated to creating an open-source education platform on how to apply the fundamental principles of total quality management to the management of all stakeholders.
2009. Launches ESM (Engagement Strategies Media) at EnterpriseEngagement.org, now the weekly ESM e-newsletter, still the only publication dedicated to news, research, profiles, people, tools, and how-to information related to purpose leadership and stakeholder management implementation across the enterprise.
2010. Holds the first international conference on enterprise engagement at the Doral Hotel in Westchester County NY in June drawing 120 academics and practitioners in all aspects of engagement—leadership, learning, communications, culture, assessment, rewards and recognition, analytics and more. The goal was to use the collective knowledge of contributors in all areas of management to create a formal framework for enterprise engagement implementation along the lines of the proven elements of total quality management.
2011. Publishes the first of now five editions of Enterprise Engagement: The Roadmap, a comprehensive guide to the principles, framework, and economics of stakeholder management and specifically how to align all the key tools, including leadership, culture, all forms of communication, job design, assessment and feedback, DEI, rewards and recognition, ISO standards, etc., toward a common purpose, goals, objectives, and values.
2012.
- Launches with McBassi Inc. the Engaged Company Stock Index, the first mock Exchange Traded Fund, a longitudinal study to demonstrate on a real-time basis the potential alpha of having highly engaged stakeholders, well before JUST Capital, Calvert, or Harbor Capital. It outperforms the S&P 500 by over 38% during the six years of the study.
- Creates the first and only syllabus for the practical implementation of stakeholder management principles across all aspects of the enterprise, from leadership and culture, to rewards and recognition and human capital management.
2019. Publishes the first edition of Enterprise Engagement for CEOs: The Little Blue Book for Stakeholder Capitalism
2020. Publishes in Forbes with Alex Edmans, Professor of Finance at London Business School, with input from Martin Whittaker, CEO of JUST Capital the first formal definition of stakeholder capitalism in an unsuccessful attempt to head off the blowback against virtue-signaling: "Enhancing returns for investors only by creating value for customers, employees, supply chain and distribution partners, communities, and the environment."
2021. Launches the first and still the only online education program on stakeholder management strategy implementation that we know of, including nine videos with over two dozen international experts from academia and business and a library of now seven books encompassing all aspects of stakeholder management implementation, culture, and measurement.
2022.
- Manages the creation of the first independently audited ISO 30414 corporate sustainability report that also includes information not just on employees but on customers, supply chain, distribution partners, and the environment consistent with the principles of stakeholder management.
- Creates the first comprehensive library to purpose leadership and stakeholder management implementation.
- Begins covering the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive well before any other US media, including the country’s first comprehensive report for US management.
- Begins advocating for the Human Resources profession to embrace a leadership role in stakeholder management.
- In conjunction with Darwin Hanson, creates the People Value Impact Calculator making it easy to track the impact of almost any people engagement investment.
- With Stuart Woollard of the Maturity Institute, the EEA launches the Stakeholder Management Assessment Calculator to track the maturity of an organization’s stakeholder management impact and outcomes, both from outsiders' and insider perceptions.
- Launches Meaningful Meetings: Lessons Shared YouTube shows with Jaki Baskow, CEO Founder of Baskow Talent and Las Vegas Speakers Bureau, featuring the life and professional lessons of leaders across business, sports, entertainment, and more.
- Launches with Dr. Paul White of Appreciation at Work the first professional services training and support program for solution providers and in-house management seeking to create a formal stakeholder management implementation process for their clients or own organizations.
